Belarusian astronaut will conduct researches at ISS
The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus developed a program for a woman astronaut who will go to the ISS in 2024, Sputnik reported.
The selected astronaut will conduct tests and research of the Belarusian SOVA apparatus, developed in the Ministry of Education together with the Academy of Sciences.
The device has been at the station for a long time. The astronaut will use it to observe the Earth from space, including for the study of the upper atmosphere. In particular, for monitoring Belarusian forests in order to prevent tree diseases.
According to the plan, the flight of the Belarusian cosmonaut as part of the Russian team was supposed to take place in the fall of 2023, but it has been postponed for six months.
