Belarusian biathlete wins silver at Beijing Olympic Games

Belarusian biathlete Anton Smolsky won silver in the individual race at the Olympic Games in Beijing, the Minsk-News agency writes with reference to the Belarus 5 TV channel.

The race was at a distance of 20 km. The Belarusian athlete finished the race without making a single mistake. The athlete was 14.8 seconds behind the first place.

Frenchman Kentin Fillon-Maillet, who covered the distance in 48 minutes 47.4 seconds and made two mistakes, won the gold in the race. The bronze went to Norwegian Johannes Boe.
