Belarusian chess players will be able to participate in international competitions

The International Chess Federation (FIDE) has allowed chess players from Belarus to compete at international tournaments under a neutral flag until January 1, 2024, Sputnik reported.

The new federation resolution will come into force on December 15. According to it, chess players of Belarus will be given back the right to play under the flag of their country after January 1, 2024, if no other decision is made before that.

In addition, the chess players can be indicated in FIDE rankings under the flag of Belarus.
