Belarusian cultural institutions spoke out against violence in Belarus
A number of cultural institutions, including the Kupala Theater, the Philharmonic, the Art Museum and other public institutions, have issued a statement against violence in Belarus, relax.by reports.
Representatives of the Belarusian art industry joined the solidarity action.
Employees of the Kupala Theater recorded a video message condemning the violence and cruelty that have been used against the Belarusian people over the past five days. In addition, an official written appeal was written on behalf of the theater demanding the authorities to enter into a peaceful dialogue with the protesters and recount the votes. Until these requirements are met and the situation in the country changes, the theater refuses to stage performances.
Employees of the Art Museum also spoke out on their social networks against the violence used by police and soldiers against protesters.
