Belarusian Paritetbank Changed Its Owners
The Belarusian government has decided to sell the state-owned Paritetbank to Beristore Holdings Limited, reports tut.by. The main beneficiary of this company is Said Gutseriev, the son of a Russian businessman Mikhail Gutseriev.
The government of the Republic of Belarus explains the need for this transaction by the fact that the sale of the bank is a part of the strategy for the development of the country's financial market. As a result, the state’s share in the funds of banks will be reduced. In this case, Beristore Holdings Limited acts as a strategic investor.
According to the statistics prepared by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus for 2020, the assets of Paritetbank are 482.092 million Belarusian rubles. In addition, at the moment, the bank takes the 15th place in the rating of banks across the country. Before the transaction, the bank belonged to The State Property Committee.
