Belarusian Railways will update trains on the Minsk — Gomel line

On September 6, the Belarusian Railway will start trial operation of new five-car electric trains of international business class lines on the route Minsk – Gomelminsknews.by reports.

New trains manufactured by "Stadler Minsk". There are 262 seats for 1st and 2nd class, three toilets, including one for the disabled, in the passenger compartment of the train. In one of the salons there are areas for oversized luggage and transportation of three bicycles. The windows in the new trains are equipped with sunscreen roller blinds. The maximum speed of the new electric trains is 160 km/h.

Trains will operate on routes No. 716/715 departing from Minsk at 7:08, from Gomel at 19:05 daily, No. 739 departing from Gomel at 15:10 from Monday to Thursday, No. 747 departing from Gomel at 10:53 on Fridays and Sundays, No. 748 departing from Minsk at 14:57 from Monday to Friday and Sunday.

In 2019, Belarusian Railways and Stadler signed a contract for the supply of 10 five-car electric trains. Three trains have been delivered to the Belarusian Railways, the delivery of the remaining seven is scheduled for October 2021-April 2022.
