Belarusian sawn timber products sold to UAE for the first time
The first deal on the sale of sawn timber products to the United Arab Emirates has been made at the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange, BELTA writes.
During the export trading session, a company from the Emirate of Abu Dhabi purchased a trial batch of hardwood lumber with a volume of 20 cubic meters from a Belarusian woodworking enterprise.
This year, Belarus pays special attention to the diversification of exchange exports of forest products by reaching end-users in Asia and the Middle East. Currently, residents of Israel, Lebanon and Egypt are working most actively on the exchange platform.
The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange was opened in 2004. It is considered one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. The main function of the exchange is to help Belarusian enterprises to export products, and foreign companies to enter the Belarusian market.
