Belavia put up for sale one of its Boeings
The auction for the sale of one of the Belavia aircraft is scheduled for August 16. The aircraft's engines require major repairs, and the liner itself has not flown since 2021, Sputnik reported.
The starting price of the Boeing 737-500, which has been in operation for more than 25 years, is 5.7 million Belarusian rubles, or about 1.9 million US dollars.
Earlier in January 2023, it became known that the United States demanded from Turkey not Boeing aircraft, which are used by Russian and Belarusian companies.
Boeing and Embraer aircraft remain in the airline's fleet. In July 2022, the carrier noted that it was hypothetically interested in purchasing Russian SSJ100 aircraft.
