BSU scientists developed a radiation monitoring system

In the Belarusian State University, they developed a system for monitoring the radiation situation at large facilities. The system has already been installed around the perimeter of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, the press service of the university reported.

The radiation monitoring system is also installed in the direction of foreign nuclear power plants. The system allows you to record the slightest changes in the radiation background and transmits the data to the Center for the Control of Radioactive Contamination.

Unlike existing analogues, the development of BSU allows for the spectrometry of radionuclides. The system also includes meteorological stations that measure temperature, wind direction, and air humidity.

This week, a new electric power substation was launched in the center of Brest.
