BSU will teach nuclear safety
It will be possible to get a master's degree in Nuclear and Radiation Safety at the Belarusian State University, the BSU website writes. In Belarus, a degree in this field appears for the first time.
The starting of this program is due to the increased demand for specialists to work at the Belarusian nuclear power plant and in specialized organizations. Therefore, the requests of the Department for Nuclear and Radiation Safety, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus, the National Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Energy and the Nuclear Power Plant were taken into account while compiling the program.
It has 11 modules, including applied nuclear chemistry, radiation and biological systems, radiation control technology, nuclear hazard and risk assessment, applied nuclear physics. Classes will begin in September. The study period is 1 year and 8 months.
