Clinical trials of biological prostheses at the RSPC «Cardiology»

Clinical trials of the first biological prostheses of domestic production are taking place at the RSPC «Cardiology», Belarus Today informs.

This is a Planix-B endoprosthesis of heart valves manufactured by JSC "Plant Electronmash". The prosthesis is designed for intra- or supraannular implantation and provides protection against mechanical wear.

The design of the endoprosthesis allows only tissue–to-tissue contact, and the polyurethane support ring prevents deformation. 7 successful prosthetic implantation surgeries have already been performed, and the patients' condition is stable.
