Cooperation between Belarus and the countries of the African continent

On March 31, Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei met with the heads of the delegation of African countries who arrived in Minsk for the second Belarusian-African Economic Forumbelta.by reports.

The results of the work on building up bilateral and multilateral cooperation achieved in the three years since the first forum were discussed at the meeting.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, said that Belarus can offer a comprehensive system approach - from assessing the local conditions of agriculture to the supply of a full line of machinery and equipment, fertilizers and technologies.

According to the Minister, Belarus is ready to cooperate on a mutually beneficial basis with African countries in a wide range of areas. The head of the Foreign Ministry said that Belarus is particularly interested in increasing the supply of machinery, equipment and components for various forms of industrial cooperation to the continent. Moreover, with the possible use of various instruments for financing exports from Belarus.

The parties highlighted the prospects for more active cooperation in the educational sphere. Makei said that Belarusian higher education institutions are ready to teach African students.
