Dinamo Minsk reached the 1/4 finals of the Gagarin Cup

Minsk’s Dinamo has made history by reaching the second round of the KHL playoffs for the first time ever, after a hard-fought series win over CSKA Moscow, Sputnik writes.

In the Gagarin Cup quarterfinals, Dinamo will take on Traktor Chelyabinsk — the top seed from the Eastern Conference.

The two sides met twice during the regular season and split the games, with one of them decided in overtime. Despite Traktor’s strong record, experts say the series is wide open.

According to a KHL-TV commentator, Dinamo’s quarterfinal appearance is a major milestone, but there’s no time to rest — the team has a real shot at another upset. This year’s playoffs have already proven that anything can happen.

Game 1 is set for April 12.
