Earth Hour to be held in Belarus

The Earth Hour campaign will be held in Belarus on March 26 from 8:30Pm to 9:30pm, the Minsk-News agency writes.

Earth Hour is an international event. The World Wildlife Fund calls on all people to turn off the lights and household electrical appliances for one hour. At the same time, the illumination of the most famous buildings and monuments of the world will go out.

The lighting of the National Library, the Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater, the Philharmonic, the TSUM, the Stolitsa Shopping Center, and the Belarus Hotel will traditionally be turned off in Minsk. For safety reasons, street lighting, aeronautical lights and traffic lights will not be turned off.

The purpose of Earth Hour is not to save electricity. This action is a symbol of respect for nature. It allows you to draw attention to the responsible attitude to the environment.
