Electronic voting will not be used in Belarus

The secretary of the Central Election Commission answered the questions of school students about the right to vote, and also told about the peculiarities of the preparation and conduct of elections in Belarus, Minsk-News writes.

Answering the question about remote voting, the Secretary highlighted that this mechanism will not be applied in the near future.

After studying the international experience of electronic voting, the commission did not find a sufficiently reliable method that allows to be 100% sure that a voter did voted on their own. At a polling station, a person receives a ballot, enters the booth, makes an appropriate mark and throws a ballot into the box. If citizens vote remotely, it is not clear whether they voted themselves or someone used their personal data and voted for them .
