Encounters with wildlife: Tarpans and tours will be waiting for tourists in the Sporovsky Nature Reserve
The republican biological reserve "Sporovsky" plans to organize exciting trips for tourists, providing an opportunity to observe tour-like cattle and tarp-like horses, BelTA reports.
The director of the reserve, Vadim Protasevich, stressed the importance of the ecological project, within the framework of which wild boerenki and tarpan horses were relocated to the reserve to restore floodplain meadows.
The environmental component of the project has a significant impact on the territory of the reserve, where previously swampy areas were mowed for hay harvesting. Now, with the use of technology and the help of tours and tarpans, the reserve is restoring its territory, creating a new habitat for rare bird species.
In 2023, the reserve attracted more than 6 thousand tourists, organizing excursions and providing direct contact with wildlife, including the opportunity for children to hold birds in their hands.
