Environmentalists predict reduction of harmful emissions from transport in Minsk
In 2021, the volume of pollutants in the atmospheric air from mobile sources amounted to 143 thousand tons in Minsk. It is expected that emissions for 2022 will amount to 121 thousand tons, Minsk-News reported.
In 2022, 44% of public transport was electric transport in Minsk. In 2021, electric transport occupied only 42%.
More than 85% of pollutants get to the air from vehicles. Given the construction of new neighborhoods in the city, the number of cars will grow. However, leasing of cars of Euro-5, Euro-6 classes from the state, as well as the transition to electric transport, can reduce emissions.
It is planned to open eight stations for super-fast charging of electric cars during the year in Belarus.
