First meeting of CIS Human Rights Commission in Minsk

The first meeting of the CIS Human Rights Commission began on November 29 in Minsk, Sputnik reported.

The commission faces complex tasks for the promotion and protection of human rights in the CIS space. Among them are the rights to reliable information, the rights of children, the rights of representatives of minorities.

The decision to establish a Commission on Human Rights in the CIS was made more than 10 years ago. The decision on the first meeting was made last year in Astana, where the CIS heads of state signed a package of documents.
