Foreign tourists spend 125$ in Belarus
First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov said that a foreign tourist spends an average of $125 per day in Belarus, according to Sputnik.
At the same time, outbound tourism is almost twice as high as inbound tourism, and the expenses of Belarusians abroad are 12 times more than the expenses of foreigners within the country.
At the meeting with President Alexander Lukashenko, the need to increase the contribution of tourism to the economy was discussed: now it accounts for about 2% of GDP and provides employment for 230,000 people. The authorities believe that the potential of the industry is much higher.
