Foreigners will be able to stay in Belarus without registration for up to 10 days

According to tut.by, the term of registration of foreigners in Belarus will be increased from 5 to 10 days. The relevant law was signed by Alexander Lukashenko.

The law provides for an increase from 5 to 10 days of the period during which foreigners arriving in Belarus are obliged to register at the place of actual temporary stay. According to the interior Ministry, the regulation will come into force on July 1, 2020.

The requirements for foreigners who plan to obtain a residence permit in Belarus are also reduced. Previously, a temporary resident foreigner had to stay in Belarus for 7 years, according to the new law — 5 years. Highly qualified specialists will be able to obtain a residence permit for 3 years.

The grounds for refusal to issue a visa to a foreigner to enter Belarus or to enter the country are also adjusted. At the same time, a mechanism for foreigners and their representatives to receive information on inclusion in the list of persons whose entry into Belarus is prohibited or undesirable is being determined.
