Free exhibition at the Art-Belarus Gallery

Since the 16th of June, the Art-Belarus Gallery is switching to a new mode of work, relax.by reports. Now the exhibits will be available to Belarusians for free.

Instead of the usual paintings on the walls, the gallery has placed empty frames with a QR code on the paintings of Belarusian artists. The new mode of work is brought about the fact that 150 paintings from the Belgazprombank collection with a total value of $20 million were seized in a case against top managers of the company. Currently, the entire collection is under arrest.

Using the QR code, you can find information about paintings, as well as biographies of artists. The collection includes paintings by authors such as Chagall, Soutine, Lubich, Bakst, Tsarfin and others. All these works were returned to Belarus thanks to the help of Belgazprombank. The most expensive painting - Chaim Soutine's "Eva" - was purchased for $1.8 million in New York.
