From Minsk to Moscow in six hours
From Minsk to Moscow in six hours-the new train is planned to run until the end of 2020. The Belarusian railway intends to introduce an accelerated direct daily passenger service between Minsk and Moscow. A corresponding working group has been established with the participation of specialists from “Belarusian railways” and “Russian railways”. At the moment, this project is being worked out. The task is to allow passengers to travel between the capitals of the two countries in six hours in comfortable conditions during the day.
About 69% of the volume of international transportation of the Belarusian railway is accounted for by Russia. During the 11 months of 2019, almost 2 million passengers were transported in bilateral traffic, which amounted to 100.7% compared to the same period of 2018. The main passenger traffic in communication with Russia-in the direction of Moscow (more than 61%) and St. Petersburg (more than 20%), according to dev.by.
