Frosts to return in Belarus
A sharp cold snap to 23 °C below zero, snow and ice are forecast in Belarus this week, BelTA reported. According to the preliminary forecast, frosty weather will prevail until the end of the first decade of January.
The first days of 2023 began with weather records. Therefore, on January 1, the deviation of the average daily air temperature in the country from the climatic norm averaged 12 degrees. In Minsk, the maximum air temperature on the first day of January was 9.8 °C.
On the afternoon of January 3, the airflows changed direction to the north-west, due to which cold weather to begin in Belarus. A sharp cold snap will begin on January 6. At night and in the morning, sleet, snow, and a weak blizzard are sometimes forecast. The temperature will drop to 7 °C below zero on average.
On Saturday, January 7, the temperature at night can reach 23 °C below zero, and day temperature may be at the level of 15 °C below zero.
