Import duties on critical imports reset to zero

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission approved the proposal to expand the list of products that are temporarily imported into the Eurasian Economic Union at a zero rate of customs duty, BELTA writes. The EEA includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

Since March 17, 2022, goods for the production of pharmaceutical, metallurgical and electronic products; goods for the development of digital technologies; goods for the construction industry; goods for light industry have already been exempted from import duties. The new list includes:

  • food products and components for their production,
  • packaging materials,
  • chemical products,
  • components for the production and repair of vehicles.

It was also decided to cancel the confirmation of the purpose of the main part of imported goods.
