In 2021, 149 thousand Belarusians received residence permit in EU

In 2021, Belarusian citizens received 149 thousand residence permits in EU countries. In 2020, only 63,500 residence permits were issued. That is, the number has grown 2.3 times over the year, CityDog.io reported.

Most residence permits were issued by Poland (131 thousand) and Lithuania (9,800). The Czech Republic has issued almost 1,800 residence permits. On working grounds, 47% of Belarusians received a residence permit in the EU, 45% – for other reasons, 5% – for studies.

Now Belarusians have become the third in terms of the number of residence permits received in the EU — after citizens of Ukraine and Morocco.
