In 2021, 33.2 thousand residents of Minsk received government social assistance. More than BYN13.1 million was spent for these purposes, the website of the Minsk City Executive Committee writes with reference to the Minsk-News agency.

Families raising minor children, as well as pensioners and people with disabilities received assistance.

Average monthly benefits:

• general allowance — BYN239 (approximately $95 at the exchange rate on December 1, 2021),
• reimbursement for the purchase of diapers — BYN373 ($150),
• allowance for the purchase of food for children under 2 years old — BYN205 ($80).
