In 2021, in Belarus collected 198 tons of used batteries

The Battery Day is celebrated in the world on February 18, the Minsk-News agency writes. In Belarus, 198 tons of used batteries were collected in 2021.

Batteries contain heavy metals that can cause harm to human health. Improperly discarded batteries pollute the environment and harm its inhabitants. In Belarus, special containers for the collection of hazardous waste are installed in shops and administrative buildings.

The Belarusian Goal 99 telegram channel reminds that it is not necessary to throw spent batteries into the usual garbage.
