In 2021, the number of Belarusian domains decreased for the first time

For the second year in a row, the national domain zone of Belarus does not show growth rates, which have been kept at the level of 3-5% for many years. In 2021, the number of domains decreased for the first time — from 150,000 to 148,896 active names, writes dev.by with a link to the report by hoster.by.

Also in 2021, the number of new registrations fell by 20%. Almost every month , more .BY and .BEL addresses were deleted  than new ones were registered.

In international domain zones hoster.by registered 13% more names than in 2020. However, a similar situation is observed in other countries: interest in national zones is declining in favor of international names.
