In 2021, the unemployment rate in Belarus was 3.8%

In the fourth quarter of 2021, the employment rate of the population of Belarus amounted to 66.9%. The unemployment rate was 3.8%, BELTA writes with reference to Belstat data.

In the fourth quarter of 2020, the employment rate was 67.9%; unemployment was 4.1%. The assessment was carried out according to the methodology of the International Labor Organization. This method differs from the previous method of estimation based on state statistical observations. The accounting of the employed population is held at the places of residence, and not at the places of work. This makes it possible to take into account people who were absent from the workplace.

Employment is the ratio of the employed population number to the total population aged 15-74 years.
