In 2023, new museum construction will begin in Khatyn complex

A new museum will appear on the territory of the Khatyn Memorial Complex, BELTA writes. Khatyn Memorial is dedicated to the victims of the genocide of civilians in Belarus during the Second World War. As well as hundreds of burned Belarusian villages.

The new museum will be divided into several thematic chronological zones dedicated to the history of the Belarusian people.  There will be halls dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, the period of occupation, the victims of the war, memorable places, perpetuation of the memory and tragedy of the Belarusian people.

The whole museum will be aimed at immersion in a particular situation in order to influence the emotions of visitors. It's task is not just to preserve historical memory, but to do everything so that everyone realizes the horror of war.
