In August, maternity benefits will rise

Starting from August 1, the allowance for childcare under the age of 3 will be increased in Belarus, BELTA reports. Recently we wrote that the export of Belarusian goods to China has increased by 1.5 times.

The allowance for the first child from August 1, 2022 to January 31, 2023 will be BYN 556. The allowance for the second and more children will be BYN 635/ Monthly allowance for caring a disabled child will be BYN 714. Relative to July, benefits will rise by 3%. Relative to August 2021, the growth will be 12%.

The amount of the allowance for the first child is 35% of the average monthly salary in the country, which is calculated once a quarter. For the second and other children, the allowance is 40%, for a disabled child — 45%.

Currently, parents of 238 thousand children receive childcare benefits. The payment costs in 2022 will amount to BYN 1.7 billion. Of these, BYN 100 million will be spent on increasing benefits.
