In China, the second monument to Yanka Kupala was opened

On January 8, the second Beijing University of foreign languages opened a monument to the national poet of Belarus Yanka Kupala, reports belta.by.

The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Belarus to China Kirill Rudy, the author of the monument-the Director of the Art Museum of China sculptor Wu Weishan, the University rector, representatives of state bodies of China, foreign ambassadors, the leadership of the Secretariat of the Shanghai cooperation organization, Chinese media journalists.

The event was held as part of the completion of the year of education of Belarus in China. "The opening of the monument to Yanka Kupala is an event that testifies to the truly friendly relations between Belarus and China, the sincere interest and respect of the Chinese people for Belarusian history and culture," the diplomatic mission noted.
