In January, the amount of money in circulation in Belarus decreased
The broad money supply in Belarus, which includes cash in circulation, funds of the population and enterprises in bank accounts decreased by 2% in January. In February, the amount of money in circulation amounted to BYN53.281 billion ($21 billion), BELTA writes with reference to the National Bank.
The volume of cash in circulation in January decreased by 1%. Transferable deposits decreased by 8.7%. The volume of securities issued by banks (outside of bank turnover) in national currency increased by 6.7% in January.
The ruble money supply decreased by 4.5% last month. Deposits in foreign currency decreased by 0.1%.
