In July, IT specialists received the lowest salary in 2022
The average salary in the IT sector fell to BYN 6,070 in July. In 2022, this is the lowest salary in Belarusian rubles, devby.io reported. Recently, the Minister of Economy said that the real incomes of Belarusians by the end of 2022 would remain at the level of 2021.
Compared to July 2021, the average salary in Belarusian rubles increased by 3.4%. However, compared to June of this year, it decreased by 3%. Salaries are affected by the fluctuation of the ruble against the dollar. According to the latest survey by dev.by almost 90% of respondents living in Belarus have their salary tied to the currency.
In foreign currency, the average salary in IT was $2,334 last month. Compared to July 2021, the salary increased by only $20. Compared to June 2022, wages fell by 4.5%.
In total, in January–July 2022, the average salary in IT was BYN 6,770 or $2,517. Compared to the same period last year, wages in rubles increased by 9%, in dollars — by 4.2%.
