In Minsk, 100 people apply for 1 social rental apartment

The demand for rental housing in Minsk is high. On average, 100 applications are received for one apartment of a new housing stock, up to 50 for re-settlement, the Minsk-News agency writes.

In high demand are 1-2-room apartments. Now such apartments are allocated to citizens registered for getting a governmental rental housing before 1993. Those who registered before 2003 can get 3-4-room apartments. Rooms with a shared kitchen are in the least demand.

The right to get a rental housing with a 30% discount in Belarus can be obtained by young professionals who have received education at the expense of the budget, as well as if they came to work after graduation. Also, rental housing is provided to military personnel, doctors, teachers, creative workers or cultural workers, subject to certain conditions. And to coaches who work as teachers in educational and sports institutions.
