India plans to buy 1 million tons of potash fertilizers from Belarus

India plans to purchase 1 million tons of potash fertilizers from Belarus as part of the first such bilateral deal after the introduction of Western sanctions against Minsk, the Minsk-News agency writes with reference to the Times of India newspaper.

To pay for the products, the Belarusian potash company can open an account in rupees in the Indian state Bank, because Western sanctions prevent the trade of Belarusian fertilizers for dollars and euros. The deal will be concluded during February.

Belaruskali is the second largest supplier of potash fertilizers in the world. The company supplies its products to more than 140 countries.
