International Women's Day: Facts about women in Minsk

As of the beginning of 2021, the number of women in Minsk exceeded 1 million 91 thousand people. This is 54% of the total population of the city, the Minsk-News agency writes. The average age of women in Minsk is 41.9 years.

There were 842 men per 1,000 women in Minsk in 2021. In 2020, 12.6 thousand women got married. Most often they created families at the age of 25-29 years — 28.5% of such brides.

According to the results of the population census of the Republic of Belarus in 2019, 37.7% of women in Minsk have higher education, 21% have specialized secondary education, 12.1% have professional secondary education, 25.2% have general secondary education, 3.1% have general basic education and 0.5% have primary education.
