IWF allowed Belarusian weightlifters to World Championship

The International Weightlifting Federation has decided to allow Belarusian athletes to participate in the World Weightlifting Championships in a neutral status, Sputnik reported.

Let us remind you that the CIS Games are currently being held in Belarus.

The 2023 World Weightlifting Championships will be held in September in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

The list of neutral athletes for these competitions, which was approved by the IWF executive committee, included 12 Belarusian weightlifters.

In addition, the federation's executive committee decided that athletes can apply for exemption from participation in qualifying competitions for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
