Latvia introduces PCR testing at the border with Belarus

Everyone who is going to Latvia from Belarus and Russia will have to pass PCR tests at checkpoints if they cannot provide documents about vaccination or testing. They will start working from July 12minsknews.by reports.

If the coronavirus test turns out to be positive or the person refuses to pass it, then he will be forced to go to quarantine in one of the certified hotels.

This decision was made by the Government of Latvia due to the rapid spread of the Delta strain.

Children under the age of 12, employees of foreign diplomatic missions, international organizations and their representative offices are exempt from testing at the border. It is also not necessary to pass the test for Latvian and foreign diplomatic couriers and those who visit Latvia at the invitation of the President, parliament, the Supreme Court and other departments.
