Law on rules of departure from Belarus for citizens comes into force
The new Law on the Rules of departure from Belarus approved the categories of citizens who will need a special permit to leave the country. The law came into force on May 16, Minsk-News reported.
Citizens who have been sued in civil proceedings or on economic matters can leave Belarus. A legal entity with debts, as well as citizens against whom an administrative process is being conducted for committing offenses against the management order, also fall under the ban.
The State Security Committee now has the right to prohibit travel for six months in the interests of national security to the following citizens: officials; persons holding senior government positions; chairmen of executive committees; heads of law enforcement agencies. They need to get an official permit to leave, agreed with the President.
A similar procedure applies to military personnel, employees of military formations and paramilitary organizations, but they need permission from law enforcement agencies.
The new law defines special rules for traveling abroad for those who have anything to do with state secrets. Both officials and employees who are engaged in maintenance in government agencies and at the same time are admitted to the secret can refuse to leave.
The Belarusians may be allowed to hide credit histories this year.
