Lithuania closes a checkpoint on the border with Belarus

Representatives of the Lithuanian customs sent an official notification to the Belarusian side about the closure of the Benyakoni-Stasilos railway checkpoint for freight transportation from February 16, Sputnik reported.

The opening of cargo transportation through this checkpoint is planned after the installation of an X-ray control system.

The closure of the checkpoint may be due to an increase in the amount of contraband transported from Belarus to Lithuania.

On February 10, the t the Bobrowniki - Bierestowica Border Crossing between Poland and Belarus was closed.
