Lithuanians supported protests in Belarus

On the 23rd of August, over 50,000 Lithuanians formed a chain of solidarity with Belarusians, reports Citydog.by. The Path of Freedom stretched from Vilnius to the border with Belarus.

Lithuanians came out in white clothes and with national Belarusian symbols (white-red-white flags). Representatives of the Lithuanian authorities also took part in the action: Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, ex-presidents Dalia Grybauskaite and Valdas Adamkus, Parliament Speaker Viktoras Prancketis and many others.

Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, an alternative candidate for the President of the Republic of Belarus, thankes the Lithuanians of help and support provided to Belarusians in their aspiration to hold fair presidential elections in the country.

During the day there was an online broadcast of the "Path of Freedom" action on YouTube.
