Mandatory chipping of cats and dogs is planned in Belarus

Belarus plans to introduce mandatory chipping of cats and dogs. According to the new law, cats or dogs will need to be chipped 2 weeks after getting a pet, Minsk-News reported.

The bill provides for the registration of all dogs in Belarus, including hunting dogs, as well as all cats.

If the law is passed, every registered animal will receive a certificate and a badge. Registration and chipping will need to be completed within 3 years after the entry into force of the law.
