MART proposes to ban plastic dishes in cafes and restaurants
For environmental reasons, MART suggests banning the use of plastic dishes in food service, reports Belta.
The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade proposes to approve a legislative draft that will widen the list of disposable plastic utensils banned for sale in cafes and restaurants in Belarus.
Nowadays, the list of prohibited plastic utensils includes a number of items, in particular, glasses, plates, tubes, containers and more. MART proposes to supplement this list with disposable forks, knives and spoons.
MART claims that by banning the sale of disposable plastic utensils in food service, the indicator of ecology and the environment will be significantly improved in Belarus. By minimizing the use of plastic utensils, we can reduce the amount of municipal solid waste.
In case of adoption of the draft, innovations will enter into force on the 1st of January, 2021.
