Meat and fish may rise in price in Belarus

The authorities are lifting price restrictions on some food products. This means that their prices will no longer be regulated, and products may rise in price, Sputnik reported.

Price restrictions are removed from the following products:

  • beets, carrots and potatoes washed
  • buckwheat and rice in cooking bags
  • all vegetable oils except sunflower
  • ground beef
  • fish in any form
  • greenery
  • ice cream
  • herbal teas and tea drinks

The new resolution contains another important detail. Retail has received the right to increase the surcharge by 10% on a number of Belarusian goods. Among them, for example, minced meat from any meat, chicken semi-finished products, dumplings, canned meat, cow's milk, sour cream and soft cheeses. This means that their prices may also rise.
