Minimum wage increases in Belarus from May 1

The average minimum wage will now be BYN311.15 in a month (until May 1, its amount is BYN296.55), pravo.by writes. We also wrote that the average salary in Belarus in March exceeded BYN1.6 thousand.

Social benefits depend on the amount of the minimum wage in Belarus. Therefore, will also grow:

• state benefits for families raising children;
• social pensions;
• uplift to pensions;
• uplifts and allowances for pensioners aged 75 and older;
• benefits for the care of the disabled.

First of all, the increase of the minimum wage will affect the amount of payments to families with children and elderly citizens. The last time the living wage was raised in March 2022.
