More than 21 thousand biometric passports issued in Belarus

Since September 1, 2021, Belarus has issued more than 45 thousand ID cards and ID residence permits, as well as more than 21 thousand biometric passports for traveling abroad, BELTA writes with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus.

Since September 1, 2021, biometric documents have been launched in Belarus: an ID card of a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, an ID residence permit, as well as biometric documents for traveling abroad. In fact, 8 new identity documents have been introduced and intended for traveling abroad.

The ID card has an electronic digital signature, which is issued for 10 years. It can be also use to order various services.
