MTBank bought Idea Bank for 50 million rubles

MTBank bought 99.999% of Idea Bank shares, reports Onliner. The bank bought the shares from Getin Holding S.A. and Getin International S.A. (Poland). The deal was valued at BYN 50 million.

The accession process will begin on April 2 and will be completed by the end of 2021. Until that time, Idea Bank will work independently. Further, the merged bank will operate under the common brand of MTBank.

All products and services of Idea Bank CJSC during the transition period will remain available to its customers in full: all conditions are preserved, the ability to use current accounts, deposits, payment cards, mobile and Internet banks, make necessary payments, receive advice and support from specialists in the environment they are accustomed to.

MTBank has been operating since March 14, 1994. It has 100% of Belarusian capital, it is also included in the list of systemically important banks for the country. It ranks 10th in terms of assets (as of March 1, they amount to 1.671 billion rubles).

Idea Bank is 10 years younger, founded in 2004 and until now was part of the Polish holding Getin Holding S.A. This bank ranks 17th in the banking system in terms of assets (as of March 1, they amount to 441 million rubles).
