NATO opposes using the alliance as an excuse for protests obstruction

NATO called on the Belarusian authorities to refrain from using the union as a means to disperse demonstrators and protesters, reports.

NATO assured that despite the fact that the organization monitors the development of the political situation in Belarus, they do not intend to interfere in the country's internal affairs.

According to NATO, the Belarusian authorities are using this alliance to create the sense of fear of an external threat to Belarus and distract the attention of citizens from problems inside the country. NATO said that they are taking an exclusively defensive position on this issue.

Let us remind you that on August 22, Alexander Lukashenko announced that the Armed Forces of Belarus were put on full readiness in connection with the activities of NATO military forces on the borders of Poland and Lithuania.
