New rules of foreign currency exchange in Belarus

Since the beginning of July, 17 Belarusian banks have introduced uniform rules for accepting banknotes in foreign currency, Sputnik reported. The bank's cash desk may confiscate banknotes whose authenticity is questionable.

In addition, the bank may also not accept foreign banknotes with inscriptions and drawings, with signs of manufacturing defects, without separate elements of protection against counterfeiting.

Also, banks will no longer change torn or cut into pieces banknotes if they are glued with transparent tape.

We advise you to keep these rules in mind when exchanging foreign currency in any banks in Belarus. If there are problems with banknotes, you should contact the National Bank of Belarus in Minsk.

Let us remind you that any business can open a current account in Turkish lira in Belarus now.
